Oral Health And Overall Health Critically In Danger Because Of Swollen Gums
To observe proper oral hygiene habits is the advice given to us since we are preschoolers until the time we are adults, but many of us let dental health being set aside. Oral health means more than having a pretty smile. Studies have found out the swollen gums and gum disease are huge contributors of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and bacterial pneumonia. Our mouth serves as a looking glass into our overall health. The human mouth is filled with various types of bacteria, whereby healthy people can keep it under control through daily brushing and flossing. If bacteria got out of control, may it be either due to poor hygiene or illness, medications that can encourage dry mouth can cause a cascade of problems. Dental experts believe that gum disease can cause the mouth to be bleeding and it can permit a port of entry for bacteria to spread anywhere from the heart and heart valves to the lungs or the brain. So, once you experience bleeding and swollen gums, visit your dentist as early as possible.
